Illustration System

At Charter Communications, I led the creation of a custom illustration language—from concept to execution. As Creative Director and Illustrator, I built a visual system rooted in the brand’s voice and tone, with a focus on human elements that foster trust and connection.

This wasn’t about decoration—it was about intention. Every line, shape, and gesture was designed to reflect empathy, clarity, and warmth. The system became a visual extension of Charter’s values, helping customers feel seen, understood, and supported.

Storytelling

When you're speaking to leadership, every second counts. We created a custom-illustrated animated video for our executive team—designed to distill complex ideas into a compelling visual narrative. From initial storyboards to final frame, every moment was crafted to inform, engage, and impress.

The Challenge

Executive presentations are often long on data and short on engagement. We needed a way to deliver a strategic message—fast, clear, and captivating. The task? Capture attention, clarify vision, and elevate the conversation.

The Process

1. Storyboarding with Purpose
We began with a blank canvas and a lot of questions. What is our hook? How do we present these very technical data points and information provided to us in an approachable and friendly way? How do we create a video that can be controlled by the rhythm of the presenter?

2. Illustration with Intent
The visual style leaned clean, minimal, and expressive—think “business casual but artsy.” We wanted each scene to connect past, present, and future. To inspire allignment and make connection with the audience we started with a home and how that home is connected to the internet of things. We then follow them as they drive through town, showcasing the connection everywhere.

Every asset was custom-illustrated, aligning with brand guidelines while adding fresh visual language tailored to the executive mindset.

3. Animation with Emotion
Subtle movement. Thoughtful transitions. No gimmicks—just smart animation that gave the message room to breathe. The result? A final cut that balanced clarity and charm

The Result

What began as a simple family journey became a metaphor for enterprise-level innovation. Executives saw the infrastructure in action, not as code or KPIs—but as real-life moments enhanced by tech.
